THE 1st PADDY FILlED GREEN IN THAILAND

Paddy Filed Green: It is the green designed to be surrounded by terraced rice fields, with landscape varying to the season of farming, with both white rice stalks just bearing grains and golden rice ready to be harvested. This is the first golf course in Thailand where Tee off is located through the rice fields stepped down. It is a design that blends with nature and preserves livelihood of local people perfectly.

 

Design and Landscape

From open rice field, it is redesigned to be a golf course for golfers who love challenge and novelty under the concept of The Sanctuary 9, focusing on natural being. It is divided into three zones: Pine Tree Zone, Wed Land Zone and Paddy Zone.

PADDY ZONE

– The zone surrounded by rice and terraced rice fields all over, where the golfer will experience the paddy fields from planting to harvest. It maintains the identity of the villagers and Chiang Mai and provides an exotic feeling for Tee off from the rice paddies through beautiful grain-bearing rice stalks. This zone includes hole# B7, B8, B9.

PINE ZONE

With the atmosphere of a golf course in the winter, covered with various species of pine trees, it gives the feeling of the pure nature, but fun and challenging. Its fairways vary in levels in a curve. This zone includes holes….. B6, C4, C5

WET LAND ZONE

This zone is filled with swamps that are home to a variety of creatures, where both plants and animals live together peacefully as the true nature and it makes the game more fun. This zone including holes… C1, C2, C3

SINGAPORE – Even as many sporting facilities and activities have been restricted or stopped in Singapore due to the coronavirus pandemic, many here are dusting off their irons and heading to the range to get back into the swing of things.

Golf clubs told The Straits Times their bookings have increased, one by as much as 15 per cent in March compared to the previous month, while a check on the Marina Bay Golf Course (MBGC) – a public facility – shows limited slots,and for only nine holes, are available this week until Sunday (April 5).

Yvonne Toh, 30, felt that with some gyms closed, golf is one of the few alternatives for exercise. She also noted tee times at Orchid Country Club (OCC) and National Service Resort & Country Club are quickly snapped up one week in advance, while MBGC can be fully booked on weekends.

The assistant marketing communications manager added: “Golf is perceived as a safer sport and activity during this virus outbreak as it is played in open air, but still allows golfers to get the 4.5 hours exercise.

“However, there is always still a risk in enclosed spaces such as the changing rooms and F&B outlets at the places we play golf at. Hence, we try to reduce the time spent with flight mates after the game.”

Sales director Jasmine Cheng, 39, is playing thrice instead of twice a week now. She said: “I do see an increase in golfers recently because the flights are full almost every day, which is more than usual.

“I think it is because more people are working from home and the travel restrictions preventing them from going to Malaysia or Indonesia to play golf.”

Korean owned and this time of the year booked mainly by Korean tour groups playing up 6-7 in a group so not the place to be on your play list at the moment. After February most of the Koreans are gone and there will be some deals to be had, particularly with the new 9 holes, it will be well worth a visit.
